NOTES: I've waited a long time to do a Clover costume. It was one of the first Mangas I had ever read, and it was one of the reasons I fell in love with CLAMP. I really wanted to do an awesome job on my Suu costume, so I decided that I would do it right before I graduated High School. That way I had both the time and the money.
Instead of using a costume from the series, I decided to design an original version and go crazy. Since all of Suu's costumes are either insane and complicated, or really simple and easy, I decided to combine both aspects. I used a lot of small details like Cut-Velvet overlays, gold snaps and small accessories, so that I could emphasize my wings. I would have liked to make a pattern on the bottom hem of the dress, just to give the plain black dress some 'umph', but I ran out of time.
My wings were made of foam core, foamies, soft brass wire, coat-hanger wire, and foam filler. They are covered in a about 3 coats of gold spray paint, and held together with lots and lots of glue. XD They were a little to heavy for the harness I designed, but it just needs a little tightening, and then all the bugs should be worked out.
